The Knall-auf-Fall-Contraption
The super-deminsional marble run with the domino effect!
“Setting a ball rolling” is a proverbial saying and means that something starts, provides the impetus, is set in motion and triggers a chain of events. It also means that something secret is uncovered. In our team event “The Knall-auf-Fall-Contraption”, you will use various materials and objects, liquids and fireworks to build an apparatus that works according to the principle of cause and effect, the so-called “domino effect”.
The participants each work in small groups on one section of the apparatus. The team in the first segment builds a marble run in which the marble is sent on an adventurous journey. The next section deals with kinetics, the transformation of the rolling movement of the ball into other types of movement, such as tilting, falling, turning or swinging. After that, everything revolves around flowing and trickling, water and sand, with funnels, seesaws, scales and containers. The team in the fourth segment is dedicated to electrical energy, building small circuits for lamps, barriers or for setting off fireworks.
